John Bielak, Co-Founder of Whale Tail Outdoors harvested this beautiful DIY public land Mountain Goat during the 2014 2nd season in unit G15. John was grateful to harvest his goat in a unit that receives a lot of hunting pressure due to the large amount of tags issued. With the help of several friends camp was hiked 6 miles in to where a small group of goats had been spotted. After a failed 2 hour stalk on opening morning with his recurve bow John realized how challenging this hunt was going to be on these weary goats. After 2 more days of hiking and glassing with no goats in sight, a group was finally spotted on a far away peak. Camp was packed up and with the help from his friend Grant, the 3 hour stalk began from an opposite basin. Once in range John decided to use his rifle and made a great shot at 300 yards.
