“SB 25-003 is Colorado’s new law that places training and eligibility requirements on the future purchase and transfer of many semiautomatic firearms with detachable magazines. Rather than an outright ban on current ownership, the law requires buyers to complete state-approved firearms safety training and meet additional eligibility requirements before purchasing certain firearms beginning August 1, 2026.”
